This course begins by exploring the questions: What is prayer? And what role does prayer play in our lives? It presents and explores Ignatian prayer styles in depth. Participants are given opportunities to further experience these styles of prayer and identify opportunities to incorporate them into personal and/or ministerial settings. Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to Ignatian Spirituality (ISFP-01) or an equivalent.
Required textbook: Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone, Martin, J., SJ. (2021)
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Fr. Jim Martin, SJ, author of the course textbook, will join us on the first day of class for half an hour to share his reflections on prayer.
