Required text: Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-year-old Company that Changed the World
by Chris Lowney
Learn the differences between leadership from a contemporary Western culture point of view and those of the tenets of Ignatian leadership. Instead of management strategies, you will be introduced to aspects of Ignatian leadership that focus on the person, on knowledge of self, creative flexibility in a world of change, heroic aspirations, and serving others with love—all aimed at furthering God’s richest intentions for all people. This course will explore the emergence of these leadership values over time, and how they can be applied in everyday life.
What you can expect:
· You will be introduced to the four pillars of leadership with opportunities to explore personal pillars.
· Exercises and discussions will allow you to identify personal characteristics of leadership with steps to apply them to your daily interactions.
Upon completion of this course you will have an understanding of the differences between the contemporary leadership model and the four pillars of Ignatian leadership.
