Fr. Gregory Boyle, S.J. founded Homeboy Industries over twently years ago in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles as a ministry to members of gangs.  In the last two decades, Homeboy Industries has grown to become a nationally recognized ministry that offers programs that includes counseling, tattoo removal, job placements, a bakery, a restaurant and much more.

Tattoos on the Heart elegantly recounts Fr. Boyle's most memorable experiences through a series of short stories that read like modern day parables.  At the heart of each one is the call to kinship and redemption as experienced in the joys, sorrows, and challenges that come with ministry to gang members.

Tattoos on the Heart, reminds us that no matter who we are, we are all worthy of the tranformative power of love.
