Loyola Institute for Spirituality offers a wide variety of Biblical, Liturgical, and Theological programs for parishes, dioceses, and other groups, presented by  Fr. Felix Just, S.J., Ph.D.,  and Mr. Randy Lopez, M.T.S.

Program formats available:

  • Short daytime or evening talks

Many scriptural and theological topics are possible especially those related to Liturgical  Seasons and the Lectionary Year. For example, a focus on the Gospel of John would be especially appropriate during the Lenten or Easter seasons. The Passion Narratives would be helpful in preparing for Holy Week, while exploring the Acts of the Apostles would be more appropriate during Easter.

Available Speakers:

Fr. Felix Just, S.J., Ph.D.

Fr. Felix received his S.T.L. in Sacred Scripture from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley and his Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from Yale University. For many years, he taught scripture and theology at Loyola Marymount University, the University of San Francisco, and Santa Clara University. He is an active member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Catholic Bible Association. He is now LIS Director of Biblical Ministries, and an instructor for the Catholic Bible Institutes of several dioceses in Southern California.  His ministry takes him throughout the USA, giving lectures, workshops, retreats, and parish missions.


Mr. Randy Lopez, M.T.S.

Randy Lopez graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Theological Studies.  He then earned a Certificate in Religious Education at the University of San Francisco and a Masters in Theological Studies (M.T.S.) at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley. Since 2001, Randy has been a high school theological studies teacher in both Northern and Southern California, currently teaching at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys giving dynamic and interactive presentations at local parishes. Since 2013 he has been the Program Coordinator for the Catholic Bible Institute in Orange.
