Program Formats Available:
  • Daytime or Evening Talks
  • Weekend Workshops
  • Series of Presentations
  • Days of Prayer or Short Retreats
  • Multiple-day Parish Missions

Biographical Sketch:

Fr. Felix received his S.T.L. in Sacred Scripture from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley and his Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from Yale University. For many years, he taught scripture and theology at Loyola Marymount University, as well as the University of San Francisco and Santa Clara University. He was also the Director of the Center for Religion and Spirituality at LMU and is now the Director of Biblical Education at LIS. His ministry brings him throughout the Southwestern USA and beyond, giving lectures, workshops, retreats, and parish missions with a wide variety of topics and themes. Possible Topics and Themes:

Many scriptural and theological topics are possible, especially those related to the Liturgical Seasons and/or the Lectionary Year. For example, a focus on the Gospel of John would be especially appropriate during the Lent or Easter Seasons; the Gospel Passion Narratives would be helpful in preparing for Holy Week, while exploring the Acts of the Apostles would be more appropriate during the weeks of Easter.

Here is just a sample of presentation topics; many others are possible, depending on local needs and interests:

  • Catholic Interpretation of the Bible
  • The History and Development of the Bible
  • The Biblical Background of the Catholic Mass
  • An Introduction to the Lectionary for Mass
  • Lector Training for Effective Proclamation of Scripture
